Expanding SCB’s Firmwide Sustainability Leadership
Sustainability is ingrained into our design process at every scale. It shapes the decisions we make throughout every project, from early planning to long-term building performance. Guiding that work is Harshika Bisht, LEED AP BD+C, SCB’s Firmwide Sustainability Leader, who is advancing our approach through design innovation, technical expertise, and firmwide collaboration.
“Harshika brings deep expertise, enthusiasm and knowledge to support our teams from coast to coast as SCB advances our projects to achieve sustainable certifications and improved building performance,” says Sara Beardsley, Director of Technical Design.
Harshika is passionate about leveraging policy, innovation, and education to advance sustainability at scale. With a Master of Design Studies in Ecology from Harvard University, she focuses on developing equitable emissions reduction strategies in urban environments. In her previous role with the City of Boston, she contributed to several policy advancements, including the city’s net-zero policy for new construction, the integration of an emissions calculator for net-zero compliance assessments, and campus sustainability standards.
Drawing on experience leading sustainability programs, policy initiatives, and development projects across the public and private sectors, Harshika bridges design and building science to integrate sustainability into every stage of the design process. She partners project teams from the earliest stages of design to establish sustainability goals, evaluate performance strategies, and navigate certification pathways. As a firmwide resource for LEED, WELL, Fitwel, and PHIUS projects, she will help translate ambitious sustainability objectives into practical design solutions.
