In the aviation sector, we are already witnessing significant shifts as AI reshapes airport operations and redefines the passenger experience from curb to gate. Through recent project work and focused research and development, SCB has been exploring how AI is changing every aspect of airports as we know them. Here are a few exciting developments that have sparked our interest in what comes next.

Streamlining Aircraft and Baggage Services with Automation
AI is helping the aviation industry transition beyond traditional, labor-intensive physical systems to more efficient, automated operations. Assembly lines powered by AI and robotics are improving aircraft servicing and baggage handling. Predictive maintenance algorithms can anticipate component failures before they occur, enabling issues to be addressed proactively. Lost luggage? AI-driven tracking systems can sort and locate baggage, speeding up the claims process and easing passenger frustration. Robots are also being deployed for routine tasks such as inspections, fueling, and cleaning.


Enhancing Aviation Operations with AI-Powered Bots
Bots, which are automated programs created to complete specific tasks, are introducing new efficiencies across the aviation industry. AI chatbots can handle customer inquiries, provide flight information, and assist with booking and check-in processes.
