Groundbreaking of FAT Village in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Date Published

The Flagler Arts and Technology (FAT) Village project reinvigorates a historic arts district with the addition of modern residences, active ground-floor retail, and flexible working spaces and establishes a vital connection between the neighborhood and the rest of the city. The mixed-use redevelopment builds on similar projects that the firm has worked on with Hines in Florida and nationwide.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, our design team joined developers Hines and Urban Street Development, city officials, the original founders of FAT Village, residents, and local artists to celebrate the milestone and the next chapter of the neighborhood’s artistic legacy.

“Our design for FAT Village is a great example of what defines our practice,” says Design Principal Devon Patterson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C. “A national perspective on what makes for dynamic urban spaces combined with a dedication for creating highly local design solutions.”
