We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Digital Design Specialist to be located on-site in the Boston office.  This individual will directly support project teams with planning and implementing digital workflows across all design phases.  Working under the direction of the firm-wide digital design leader, this role is part of a collaborative team that drives innovation and continuous improvement in our digital practice.

The ideal candidate is proactive and interested in how to best leverage technology to support the design processes and project delivery. They are flexible and team-oriented with good communication skills and comfortable working across multiple projects and offices.

There is flexibility in the position description, and SCB will consider those interested in a full-time Digital Design role, as well as architectural graduates who wish to continue in a hybrid role between Digital Design and Architecture.

The Role

  • Provide digital design support, resources, and strategies to guide the workflows of Architectural teams, focused on projects in the Boston office.
  • Support complex project types such as aviation, multi-family, campus environments and mixed use.
  • Assist with project setup, planning, standards implementation, model quality reviews, and coordination efforts with consultants and outside parties.
  • Work directly with project teams to troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations within Revit.
  • Provide support to teams using a variety of tools including design, scripting and analysis software. Research and evaluate new software opportunities and identify and support pilot project opportunities.
  • Support the studios and the firm-wide digital design leader with a positive, team first attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Design Group and with the I.T. Group to develop strategic goals and office-wide initiatives, including contributing to standards, written guides, project templates, and digital content.

Your Qualifications

  • A professional degree in architecture, engineering, or construction technology
  • 3 or more years of post graduate architectural or related experience, with specific BIM focus or technology experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit and working knowledge of other software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, and Sketchup. Experience with applications for scripting (Dynamo and Grasshopper), building performance analysis (Insight, Forma, Ladybug), Visualization (Enscape) and BIM coordination (ACC, Navisworks and Revizto) is preferred.
  • Experience setting up, organizing and managing exchange workflows for Revit projects in ACC/BIM 360.
  • Experience with Revit family creation and modification.
  • A strong interest in innovation within the digital design space and willingness to explore how new technologies impact our practice.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
