We are seeking a collaborative and driven Designer Technical III to join our growing aviation practice. The right candidate is creative, highly organized, experienced in developing solutions to architectural and interdisciplinary problems, and eager to take on the challenges of aviation projects.

A strong understanding of digital delivery methods, building code and regulatory processes, and building materials & systems is essential. Assigned tasks may principally be design or technically focused, or both, depending on the size and complexity of the project, and capabilities of the individual. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Contributes to formulation of SCB and project design philosophy and adheres strictly to this philosophy in the execution of the work and in assignments to junior staff.
• Prepares design and technical drawings and solutions to complex architectural and interdisciplinary problems. Capable of independently developing solutions to architectural problems and self-monitoring time.
• Contributes to the project BIM execution plan (BEP) and work plan in conjunction with senior team leaders including the timing and format of models, drawings, mockups, schedules, data summaries and specifications.
• Develops and checks project designs and details, coordinates work with others on project team and with outside project consultants.
• Checks own work for compliance with building code, accessibility, and other regulatory requirements, and helps to check for conformance by the project team.
• Implements SCB’s procedures and office standards in their work.
• Represents SCB during construction phase and is capable of performing all SCB construction phase activities.
• Researches and promotes opportunities for new or innovative system applications. Actively looks for and implements techniques to improve quality of work and efficiency.
• Directs and supervises work of junior level staff in preparation of drawings, studies, models, and other project tasks.

• Foundational understanding of complex building materials and systems, details, and construction techniques, primary structural and MEPFP systems and their operation, and secondary building systems.
• Foundational understanding of zoning, building code, accessibility, and other regulatory requirements as they relate to the project
• Foundational understanding of the Owner/Architect agreement, project schedule, and project budget parameters

Perform Other Duties as Assigned

• Participates in Studio and Firm events
• Attends Industry and Business Development Events
• Contributes to Firm activities to promote staff education

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture
• A minimum of 5 years post-graduate, full-time work experience.
• Pursuing license to practice Architecture in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• LEED AP
