SCB announces Matt Pietras, AIA, LEED AP and Sarah Kennedy, AIA as Studio Leaders in our San Francisco office.

Matt has nearly 30 years of experience and has led the delivery of more than two million square feet of projects for premier institutions and organizations including Stanford University, the University of California system, and developers such as CIM Group and ONNI Group. He served as Project Manager for the largest planned student housing project at the University of California, Riverside, totaling nearly 4,000 beds to date. Matt has also managed several skyline-defining residential tower projects in downtown Los Angeles and Oakland.

Sarah brings more than 14 years of architectural experience focused on multifamily and mixed-use residential environments, including affordable, market-rate, student, and senior housing communities across the West Coast and Canada. As a housing advocate, her work advances solutions that balance livability, affordability, sustainability, and thoughtful urban integration. A notable project includes Woolsey Gardens in Berkeley, CA, an affordable housing community designed to be net-zero energy, built with mass timber construction, and targeting LEED Platinum.

In their roles, Matt and Sarah will help guide the continued evolution of SCB’s San Francisco studio, advancing design that responds to the complex demands of campuses, housing, and urban growth.
