SCB Receives Two Honors at the 2024 American Architecture Awards

Date Published

The Belden-Stratford won an award for best Restoration and Renovation. Originally constructed in 1923 as a luxury hotel, The Belden-Stratford is an iconic Beaux-Arts building in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Its transformation into a modern, luxury residential community is a significant chapter in its history and an example of SCB’s growing adaptive reuse and renovation portfolio.

Our design for 1234 West Randolph, a collaboration between Azur Holdings Management and Golub & Company, earned an Honorable Mention. The 41-story tower reflects the recent move towards high-rise development in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The building’s design addresses the challenge of adding height while maintaining sightlines in a low-rise area.

The American Architecture Awards are the largest awards program in the nation. The awards celebrate the best new buildings designed by American architects in the U.S. and abroad and by international architects for buildings designed and built in the United States.
