Wells Street Tower
Chicago, Illinois
Sited just south of Chicago's Loop in the Printer's Row district, Wells Street Tower is constructed as a simple geometric form defined by a two-story supergrid. A rectangular bay that projects toward the street on the west and east elevations enhances the views from the units and activates the broad elevations of the tower. Balconies are created at the transition from the projecting bay and the underlying plane of the tower facade. A cantilevered brow at the top of the projecting bay further underscores the modernist personality of the building and provides a unique identity on Chicago's skyline.
