This mixed-use project located on the corner of 13th & South Michigan Avenue in Chicago provides 412 rental apartment units, as well as 91 subsidized residential units for the City’s elderly residents.
The building’s form expresses the programmatic differences between housing types.
The senior living units are located in a 10-story brick clad building that is reminiscent of the many lofted warehouse buildings indigenous to the South Side.
The market-rate housing is located in a glass and steel clad 40-story tower that responds to the many other tall buildings just to the north of the site. Both buildings share common elements such as the parking garage and the sun deck.
